Shaping Future Players – Our Recreational Soccer program is all about learning the game, having fun, and fostering a love for soccer. Open to all skill levels, it’s a great way for young athletes to build confidence, develop friendships, and enjoy the sport.

Who can participate in Freeland Soccer Club’s recreational program?
Our recreational soccer program is open to boys and girls of all skill levels, with birth years of 2012 to 2022.
What is the goal of the recreational soccer program?
The program focuses on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and supportive environment, helping players build confidence and a love for the game.
When does the recreational soccer season take place?
The season typically runs in both the spring and fall, with games and practices scheduled during the week and on weekends.
Where are practices and games held?
Practices and home games take place at the Freeland Soccer Club Complex, located at Freeland Middle School, 8250 Webster Rd, Freeland, MI 48623.
How often do teams practice and play games?
Teams usually practice once a week, with games held both during the week and on weekends, depending on the age group and the coach’s schedule.
Do players need prior experience to join?
No experience is necessary! Our program welcomes beginners and experienced players alike, with coaches focusing on age-appropriate skill development.
What equipment is required for players?
Players will need soccer cleats, shin guards, an appropriately sized soccer ball based on their age, and a team jersey. Please note, the team jersey is not included in the registration fees.
Are there volunteer opportunities for parents?
Yes! We rely on parent volunteers for coaching, team management, and event support. No prior coaching experience is required—just a willingness to help!
How are teams formed?
Teams are grouped based on age and school grade levels to ensure fair competition and balanced development opportunities.
How much does it cost to register for recreational soccer?
The regular registration fee is $100 per player. However, an early bird discount is available for $80 if you register before the deadline above. Be sure to sign up early to take advantage of the savings!
Are scholarships available for recreational soccer?
Yes, scholarships are available to help offset soccer costs for families facing financial hardship. To be considered, please complete and submit the form below.
