Nurturing Young Talent – Our Minis (ages 2–4) offers a fun and supportive environment where little ones can grow through movement, creative play, and social interaction. The Junior Academy (ages 5–9) helps young players build a solid foundation in soccer through age-appropriate training, preparing them for the next step into competitive travel play.

What equipment is required?
Participants should have soccer cleats or tennis shoes, shin guards, a soccer ball, and a water bottle.
What is the goal of the youth development programs like mini and junior academies?
The goal of Freeland Soccer Club’s Youth Development Programs is to introduce children ages 2–9 to the fundamentals of soccer through age-appropriate skills training, teamwork, and fun activities that build confidence and a lifelong love for the game.
Are there any prerequisites for joining?
No prior soccer experience is necessary for either program. Both are designed to accommodate beginners and help them develop foundational skills.
Where are sessions held?
Sessions take place at the Freeland Soccer Club Complex, located at Freeland Middle School, 8250 Webster, Freeland, MI 48623.
How much does it cost to register for a youth development program?
The regular registration fee is $85 per player for Minis, and $95 per player for the Junior Academy.
Are scholarships available?
Yes, scholarships are available to help offset costs for families facing financial hardship. To be considered, please complete and submit the form below.
How can I register my child for recreational soccer?
Registration opens before each season—make sure to sign up early, as space may be limited!
